Don’t we all want something new? The shiny new thing, doesn’t really matter what “it” is, “it” just needs to be new! The latest and greatest. The new and improved version cause who wants the “old”?
Old Is The New “New”
Even the “old” can be new again as long as its vintage old. There was a restaurant here in Sparkle City that was partly famous for having a bunch of old stuff hanging from the walls. I was never really all that impressed. For some reason to me it just looked like someone had just left some old decor hanging up too long! They have a new location opening soon, it’ll be interesting to see if they move all that old stuff or just get some new “old” crap, excuse me “vintage” crap, I mean “decor!”
I think we need “new” to keep going to keep moving forward. Everybody knows this so we are bombarded with new stuff but very little of it is actually new. Even if it is new it’s likely to be a rehash of something from the past. That’s ok, I guess we all need a second go at times.
So what will be new for you this year? Will it be something brand spankin’ new or will it be something vintage? I suggest this New Year we take some time to seek out a new word for our New Year. Even if its something old we have known that’s ok. All things can become new is a hope we all share. In fact it is the derivative of us being drawn to the “new.”
Yes something deep in our hearts longs for the “new.” It is no accident and it reveals truth that is eternal. Hope springs eternal right?
Take some time, today or sometime this week to ask what new thing is in your future. What word comes to mind? What whisper in your head that only you can hear is there? Stay with it. It may not make sense at first especially if its something new but stay with it. Write it down.
If you have heard something new or old give us a reply below. Let’s walk into something new this year together.
