Greetings from the New 4RMations Team!
A lot has happened since our last bonfire in October and we wanted to keep you informed:
1. We’ve created an online database for event registrations and communications. By the end of the year, we will be set up for auto-fill forms and text registrations for those already in our database.
2. We’ve started work on our website at, www.new4rmations.com. We hope to have it finished by the end of the year. Check it out and keep up with our progress. We also welcome your feedback.
3. We’ve formed a board of directors and are in the process of incorporating as a non-profit, with application to become a 501(c)(3).
4. We are continuing to plan our events and other offerings through the end of 2016.
We certainly appreciate your prayers in all of these matters, as well as your continued promotion and participation.
Please see below about some of our upcoming events over the next few months.
Thanks and peace,
Tim McNamara & Charlie Vensel
Men’s Upstate Bonfire: December 4, 2015 from 6pm-9pm Taylors, SC
Men’s Upstate, SC Bonfires offer a theme or demonstration, food, casual conversation, and a teaching on the masculine journey. Our goal during these events is to provide a safe and unique environment for men to build lasting and genuine relationships with other like-minded men in the area.
Tonight’s Meal: Chicken Bog: Chicken bog is a delicious chicken, rice and sausage dish, and it’s very much a South Carolina thing.
Tonight’s Speaker: Charlie Vensel, New 4RMations Cofounder, will be sharing from his own life experience, how we desperately need to invite others into our stories to help us re-interpret our lives in order to embrace God’s truth rather than the Enemy’s lies that keep us stagnant in our spiritual formation.
What to Bring: Dress for the weather (rain or shine), bring a lawn chair, a friend (have them register too) and $10 to cover the cost of the event (food, drinks, etc)*, more if you can, less if you can’t; we don’t want money to stop anyone from coming.
*All New 4RMations Bonfires are alcohol-free events.
Fly Fishing Meet-Up: December 5, 2015 from 10am-5pm at the WNC Ag Center
New 4RMations’ Cofounder, Tim McNamara, will be leading a group up to Asheville, NC on Saturday December 5, 2015 to experience the largest fly fishing expo in the southeast…lots to see and do.
This event provides anglers a forum to sharpen their skills and learn about the latest innovations in their sport. The expo will feature over 70 booths of local fly shops, angling organizations and fly-fishing art, while companies such as Simms, Orvis, Scientific Anglers, Flymen Fishing, and Sage will showcase the newest gear for 2016.
This year’s featured speakers are renowned fly fishing experts addressing the distinctive tactics for fly fishing throughout the southeast.
Meet us at the WNC Ag Center at 10am, or contact Tim McNamara for carpool information. Carpool will leave the GSP area around 9am and return around 5-6pm. We plan to be at the WNC Ag Center from 10-3 and stop for a late lunch at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. on the way home.
There is no charge from New 4RMations, but Expo admission is $15 at the Ag Center door, plus your lunch at Sierra Nevada.Join us for this mini-adventure and bring a friend (have them register too); we’d love to meet them too!
Band of Brothers Workshop: January 9, 2016 from 9am-4pm
Ready to engage your battle to fight, adventure to live, and beauty to rescue? Tired of trying to do it alone? Are you ready for a Band of Brothers? Men desperately need the community of other men in order to stand strong, lead courageously, reject passivity and engage their domains with the power of Jesus Christ.
A Band of Brothers is that community of men. 3-6 men, that have entered covenant together to have each others’ backs, call each other higher in the life available through Jesus, and send each other out to be dangerous for good It is is not what most of us have experienced in a small group, a Bible study, or accountability group; it is about doing life together and embarking on the battle to recover our wounded hearts and reignite our spirit of adventure.
The Band of Brothers Workshop will require the courage to look at your past in a new light, look at your present with a new set of eyes, and look at your future in a new way. We recommend attending this workshop if you ready to lead or participate in a Band of Brothers.
The interactive workshop draws on the teachings of John Eldredge of Ransomed Heart Ministries and Terry Walling of LeaderBreakthru, covering such topics as:
1. Born for Battle: Our Place in the Story
2. Defining Moments: How God Shapes a Destiny
3. Life Messages: How God Shaped Your Destiny
4. Wounded in Action: Treaties with the Enemy
5. Battle Fronts: Life Domains
6. Next Steps: Leading/Participating in a Band of Brothers
Please bring $25 to cover the cost of the event (lunch, drinks, snacks, materials, etc), more if you can, less if you can’t; we don’t want $ stop anyone from coming. Location is TBD.

This is the fishing trip to end all fishing trips! We have reserved several cabins feet away from the river, which will have been recently loaded with two truckloads of Rainbow, Brown and Brook trout courtesy of NCWRC.

These are nice cabins with big porches and a fire pit right out front where we gather each evening for fire time and fellowship.
Fishing experience not necessary, just let us know and we will help you out with gear and instruction!
